Two Lincoln County Firefighters Complete 2nd Annual Memorial Stair Climb

On May 5, 2018 Lincoln County Firefighters Tristan Welch and Daniel Anderson successfully completed the 2nd Annual Columbia Memorial Stair Climb.

The event was held at the University of Missouri’s Farout Field in Columbia, Missouri to honor the 422 First Responders who died in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.  The climb was equivalent to a 110 story building, the same number of stories as the former World Trade Center.  Both Welch and Anderson climbed the 110 stories in full Firefighting gear.

During the climb, each participant carried with them a name and photo of a First Responder who died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

The event raised funds for Safety Net of Missouri who provides benefits to families of fallen first responders.  A second charity, Firefighter Cancer Support Network also benefited from the event.
