Smoke alarm batteries should be changed every 6 months, typically at Daylight Savings Time to help us remember, “Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries.”
It is possible that 9 volt batteries used in most smoke alarms still have some life left in them. Why take out a good battery? You never know when you’ll need it, so you always want fresh batteries in your smoke alarm. Save the old ones and use them for something else that doesn’t protect your family.
Sunday, March 12th is the day. Don’t forget.
