At 6:17 A.M. this morning, Lincoln County & Wentzville Firefighters responded to the Lincoln/St. Charles County line at Mette Rd. for a person in a vehicle trapped by rising flood waters. Firefighters were able to get a boat in the water from the Lincoln County side and rescue the man who drove into the flood waters thinking he could make it through. The man was safely returned to dry land with no injuries.
We know from experience, it is very difficult to judge depth and speed of flood waters. While your car may or may not be swept away, your engine may very well stall leaving you stranded and needing help. Never drive around barricades or into flood waters.
