Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall

In 2015 and 2016, we gave away approximately 40 fire extinguishers, similar in appearance to the one pictured.  Some or all of these fire extinguishers have been recalled by Kidde, the manufacturer, citing safety concerns.  Kidde advises the extinguishers can become clogged or the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.

We have reached out to Kidde and asked them to send us replacements so that we can set up an exchange program for our residents.  However, Kidde insists that each resident contact them directly to receive a free replacement extinguisher.

Residents may contact the Kidde recall center directly between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST Monday-Friday, or between 9:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the weekend at (855) 271-0773.  You may also visit Kidde’s Product Recall page.

The video below will help you determine if your specific fire extinguisher is involved in the recall.
