The following statement is from Chief Michael Marlo that will be retiring this fall.
After 50 years in the fire and EMS service, the time has come to officially hang up my helmet.
I’ve been fortunate to serve alongside some of the finest men and women in this profession-people who became more than coworkers, they became family. I’ve spent most of my career with West Overland EMS and Fire Protection District, followed by five great years with Wentzville Fire Protection District, and I’m proud to be concluding my journey with over five years at Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1.
Each chapter brought its own challenges, memories, and lifelong friendships. What I’m most proud of isn’t the titles or the years-it’s the people I’ve worked with and the lives we were able to impact along the way.
To everyone I’ve trained with, served with, laughed with, and even cried with-thank you. It’s been one hell of a ride, and I wouldn’t trade a single minute of it.
On to the next chapter!
The Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 would like to thank Chief Marlo for his years of service and especially for being our Fire Chief for the last 5 years.
